WHAt IS BIKE SHARE?

Bike Share is a revolution on two wheels. By providing a network of bicycles that can be rented on-demand from stations located around the city, it changes everything about urban transportation. It's not only a fun, healthy way to experience Memphis, but also a means to improve Memphis' overall physical, environmental, social, and financial health.

Bike share is a remarkable innovation of urban mobility and transit, providing citizens and tourists alike with a fun, healthful, affordable, and dynamic transportation option.

The system will have approximately 600 bikes and 60 stations "inside the loop" in Memphis. Stations will be located throughout Memphis, making trips to a park, greenline, school, or grocery store shorter than walking or taking public transit. Bikes will also be available as a world-class amenity for tourists and visitors.

Memphis has seen a wave of innovation in how we view our public spaces. Our next opportunity is transportation to make these places more accessible to a large part of our community.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Bike Share is for everyone wanting to get around Memphis, from the daily commuter to the parent needing to run to the store for milk to the curious tourist. The bicycles are safe, simple, sturdy and designed for users with a range of abilities.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Bike Share is pretty easy. You go to a station, pick up a bike, and go. Then put it away at another station when you're done. That's it. You can pay per ride, per day, per month, or even per year.

WHERE WILL IT BE?

Many Memphians are in need of better transit options - but are seeing fewer of them. A network of safe, affordable, and accessible bicycles may be able to fill some of these gaps, unlocking new opportunities in neighborhoods across the city .

HOW WILL IT AFFECT MEMPHIS?

The benefits of bicycling are wide-reaching, from sharing culture to improving health. The challenge before us is expanding these benefits in a way that is truly equitable and enjoyed by more Memphians.
